Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba Builds New Terror Camp Following Indian Airstrikes: Intelligence Reports

Recent intelligence reveals Lashkar-e-Taiba is constructing a new terror training facility called Markaz Jihad-e-Aqsa in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, just 47km from the Afghanistan border. This development follows India's Operation Sindoor airstrikes in May and appears to be part of a coordinated effort supported by Pakistan's ISI to revive anti-India terror operations, with completion expected by December 2025.

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is constructing a new terror training facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Lower Dir region, according to recent intelligence reports.

New Delhi:

Fresh evidence has emerged demonstrating Pakistan's ongoing support for cross-border terrorism. The UN-designated terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), responsible for the devastating 26/11 Mumbai attacks, is currently establishing a large-scale terror training center called Markaz Jihad-e-Aqsa in the Lower Dir region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intelligence sources have revealed.

Recent satellite imagery and video footage captured this week document swift progress on the LeT facility, situated just 47 kilometers from the Afghanistan border.

According to sources, the camp has been assigned to terrorist Nasr Javed, who played a key role in orchestrating the 2006 Hyderabad bombings. The facility is intended to function as a center for advanced jihadist indoctrination and weapons training.

Consistent with LeT's established strategy of disguising terrorist infrastructure behind religious facades, the camp is being constructed adjacent to a mosque. Upon completion, this terror launchpad is expected to house fidayeen (suicide) units and operate specialized training programs, replacing facilities that were destroyed during India's Operation Sindoor airstrikes in May.

This construction activity coincides with similar base establishments by two other terrorist organizations - Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) - in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

These developments strongly suggest the involvement of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in coordinating a systematic revival of anti-India terror operations.

Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir is reportedly working extensively to provide safe havens for terrorist groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and Hizbul Mujahideen in the region.

Rather than dismantling terrorist networks, Pakistan's military has reportedly cleared rival groups such as TTP from Lower Dir, facilitating LeT's expansion. While Islamabad seeks international assistance under the pretense of counterterrorism efforts, it continues to nurture "good terrorists" for its proxy war against India, posing a significant threat to regional stability, sources indicated.

The LeT's Markaz Jihad-e-Aqsa terror facility will function as the replacement hub for its Jaan-e-Fidai suicide unit following the destruction of the Markaz Ahle Hadith facility at Bhimber-Barnala by Indian forces during Operation Sindoor on May 7, according to intelligence sources.

LeT relocated its camp to Lower Dir to avoid future targeting by Indian forces. However, sources noted that the Indian army maintains the capability to strike such distant locations if necessary.

From an operational perspective, the LeT's new training center is projected to be completed by December this year and represents a medium to high long-term threat. Though still under construction, it is already emerging as a fresh center for recruitment, radicalization, and large-scale terrorist training operations.

Intelligence reports indicate that LeT has concentrated all its energy, resources, and funding toward establishing the Jihad-e-Aqsa training center, demonstrating the urgency and priority that the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization places on making this new facility operational.
