Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently shared a touching personal story ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, revealing his compassionate nature following her first Union Budget speech.
"While many view Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi ji as a strong, serious, and determined leader—which he certainly is—I've also witnessed his tender, thoughtful, and deeply humane side," Ms Sitharaman posted on X.
She described her memorable experience after delivering her inaugural budget speech in 2019, which lasted nearly two and a half hours: "My first budget speech day remains unforgettable, though not for reasons most would assume."

Showing immediate concern, the Prime Minister dispatched his personal doctor to her residence to conduct necessary medical tests and ensure her wellbeing.
"What truly touched me was that his concern has persisted through the years. Even today, he frequently asks: 'Are you looking after yourself? How are you keeping?'" she shared.
In a video posted on X, Sitharaman elaborated that she had become dehydrated during her lengthy speech. "He has numerous ministers under his leadership, which is understandable. But he emphasizes that self-care is essential for service—he ensures you prioritize your health," she explained.
The Finance Minister highlighted that while the Prime Minister is widely known for his strength and determination, his compassionate side is equally significant. "This unique blend of firmness and compassion is what distinguishes him," she wrote, tagging "Modi Story," a platform dedicated to sharing personal experiences about PM Modi.
"For a national leader juggling responsibilities that impact every corner of India to remember and genuinely care about his colleagues' wellbeing is truly exceptional," she added.
Ms Sitharaman mentioned that PM Modi's birthday celebrations would be part of "Seva Pakhwada 2025."
This BJP-initiated nationwide campaign commemorating PM Modi's 75th birthday on Wednesday will span 15 days, concluding on October 2, featuring various public welfare activities throughout India.
