Madras High Court Issues Notice To Actor Vijay In TVK Party Flag Copyright Dispute

The Madras High Court has issued a notice to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay on Friday regarding an appeal filed by Chennai-based trust Thondai Mandala Saandror Dharma Paribalana Sabai. The appeal challenges a single judge's order that refused to prevent TVK from using its party flag.

A division bench consisting of Justices G Jayachandran and M Sudheer Kumar scheduled the matter for further hearing after six weeks. The appeal was submitted by Dharma Paribalana Sabai.

Thondai Mandala Saandror Dharma Paribalana Sabai had previously filed an application as part of a lawsuit, alleging trademark and copyright infringement by TVK and seeking to restrain the party from using its flag.

On August 18, a single judge who heard the application declined to restrain TVK from using its flag. Dissatisfied with this decision, the Sabai proceeded to file the current appeal.
