New Delhi:

A juvenile, recently released on bail in a double murder case, allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old boy to death in northeast Delhi's Seelampur area. The suspect has been apprehended by authorities, police confirmed on Friday.

The accused teenager, approximately 13 to 14 years old, had been out on bail for only three to four months following his involvement in a double homicide case in Narela Industrial Area last year, according to officials.

Police reports indicate that an altercation erupted between the two boys when they encountered each other Thursday evening, culminating in the accused fatally stabbing the victim with a knife, as stated by a senior police officer.

According to official statements, authorities at the Seelampur police station received a call regarding the incident at approximately 8:27 pm on Thursday.

When police arrived at the scene, they learned the injured boy had already been transported to Jag Pravesh Chandra (JPC) Hospital, where medical professionals later pronounced him deceased.

The victim's family subsequently organized a protest, necessitating substantial police deployment to maintain public order. Sources indicate a senior police official visited the location to engage with the demonstrators.

"My son worked as a mechanic. He was killed right next to the police post, not even 10 steps away. He worked here, in front of the Seelampur metro station. This marks the 10th or 11th murder in this area, with killings occurring roughly every two months," Tejpal, the victim's father, told PTI.

"The juvenile suspect has been apprehended. The murder weapon, a knife, has also been recovered," confirmed the officer.

Forensic specialists were summoned to examine the crime scene and collect evidence. Police teams are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and questioning witnesses to the incident, the officer added.
