A large crowd of protesters gathered outside the residence of Siddhartha Sharma, manager of celebrated singer Zubeen Garg, in Guwahati, Assam today. Fans across the region remain devastated following the iconic artist's death in Singapore.
The demonstration coincided with the Assam Police's special investigating team (SIT) conducting separate raids at properties belonging to Northeast India Festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta and Zubeen Garg's manager Siddhartha Sharma.

One SIT team visited Mr. Mahanta's residence in Geetanagar, where they found only two household staff members present, with no family members on the premises.
Another investigation team discovered Mr. Sharma's Dhirenpara apartment locked. Authorities proceeded to break the lock in the presence of a magistrate to conduct a thorough search of the property. Following the search operation, the SIT officially sealed his residence at Orchid Hill View Apartments.
According to building residents, Mr. Sharma's mother, brother, and sister, who also resided in the apartment, have not been seen since the day of Zubeen Garg's passing.
The Assam government has established a 10-member SIT headed by Special DGP MP Gupta to investigate the circumstances surrounding the singer's death. Zubeen Garg tragically drowned in the sea on September 19 while visiting Singapore to perform at the Northeast India Festival.
