The current generation is establishing their aspirations solidly within India, firmly believing that their homeland will provide the platform for fulfilling their dreams, stated Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group, on Thursday.

While speaking at the Adani Green Talks 2025 in Ahmedabad, Mr Adani shared: "Yesterday evening, I had the opportunity to interact with some of this year's participants alongside many familiar faces from the previous three years of Green Talks. Being surrounded by so many self-assured young entrepreneurs was tremendously invigorating. I felt completely in my element."

He continued: "This generation stands apart. They are rooting their ambitions firmly in Indian soil, convinced that India itself will be the arena where their dreams materialize. Undoubtedly, I found the evening profoundly inspiring."

The industrialist emphasized that it is "our collective duty to identify the most brilliant minds across our expansive nation and prepare India for its Second Freedom Struggle - not a battle for independence from foreign domination but for technological self-reliance, and social innovation that elevates every community, diminishes divisions and reinforces the very foundation of our democracy."

This understanding is transforming the essence of Green Talks, he noted.

Green Talks operates as a non-profit open platform aiming to connect the global network of social enterprises driving broad transformation across various sectors, to expedite progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. It has been conceived as a venue for open-source innovation, a forum for unrestricted dialogue, and an incubator for ideas that could generate lasting societal impact.

The industrialist confessed that social entrepreneurs humble him the most. "They begin, not pursuing wealth but striving to construct a better society," he remarked.

Discussing the current edition of Green Talks, Mr Adani stated: "We initiated this series four years ago with a straightforward yet powerful conviction that we can learn from and be inspired by those exceptional individuals who choose vision over comfort and possibility over security. Green Talks is fundamentally about possibility."

He added: "Founded on the belief that every new idea contains the blueprint for transformation, Green Talks reminds us that growth isn't linear - it's unpredictable and often invisible. That is, until suddenly, a green shoot emerges through the surface, heralding a new chapter of freedom and hope."

Mr Adani recounted several stories, including that of GenRobotics - which specializes in robotic solutions for sanitation, waste management and hazardous confined space operations - from the previous Green Talks edition.

"I will never forget the powerful images of manual scavenging they presented. Authentic images revealing one of the most degrading forms of human indignity. Their response to this crisis was courageous: robots - capable of entering and cleaning the filthiest sewers and performing work no human should ever be forced to undertake. From that beginning, they have now expanded to deploy over 300 robots across 21 states, liberating thousands from this demeaning practice," he explained.

The industrialist also commended actor Vikrant Massey for his film '12th Fail'. It transcends being merely a film, he asserted. "Just as every green shoot breaks through the hardest soil, his story reminds us that resilience and perseverance can overcome every obstacle," he remarked, shortly after the actor received the Best Actor Award at the 71st National Film Awards.

Additionally, Mr Adani praised Padma Vibhushan Dr Krishna Ella, "an entrepreneur who, during our darkest hour, produced the Covid vaccine, proudly labeled Made in India, and protected hundreds of millions of our brothers and sisters." "Dr Ella, your inspiring journey demonstrates that visionary entrepreneurship by an individual can indeed influence a nation's destiny," he concluded.
