Passenger Bitten By Rat At Indore Airport

Following the incident, the passenger received immediate medical attention including an injection and antibiotic tablets.
Indore:
In the wake of ongoing concerns about rodent issues in Indore, a new incident has emerged where a traveler claimed to have been bitten by a rat at the local airport, shortly after public outrage regarding the deaths of two newborn girls from rat attacks at an Indore hospital.
According to officials' statements on Wednesday, the incident involved a male passenger traveling from Indore to Bengaluru who was allegedly bitten by a rodent in the departure area on Tuesday.
The airport's medical staff promptly provided treatment to the passenger, administering an injection and prescribing antibiotic tablets.
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport Director Vipinkant Seth confirmed to PTI that the passenger was likely bitten by a rat and received immediate appropriate medical care.
"Following this incident, we have conducted additional pest control measures throughout the airport premises," he stated.
This incident comes after the tragic deaths of two newborn girls with congenital health issues who died following rat attacks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Indore's government-run Maharaja Yashwantrao Chikitsalaya (MYH) during the night between August 31 and September 1, as reported by officials.
In response to accusations of severe negligence, the MYH administration has maintained that the deaths were not caused by rat bites but were instead due to pre-existing serious health conditions related to different congenital problems.
