"Come To My Room, I'll Take You Abroad On Trip": Delhi Baba's Sleazy Chats

'Come to my room... I'll take you abroad, you won't have to pay anything' - sleazy messages sent by 'Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati' to young women entrusted to his care as the 'director' of a privately-run institute in Delhi's posh Vasnt Kunj

'Swami Chaityananda Saraswati', who is actually Parthasarathy from Odisha according to police, has been exposed for sending inappropriate messages to young women.

New Delhi:

Messages like 'Come to my room... I'll take you on a trip abroad, you won't have to pay anything' were sent by 'Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati' to young women under his supervision as the 'director' of the privately-operated Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management in Delhi's upscale Vasant Kunj area.

WhatsApp conversations discovered on the mobile devices of 50 women from the institute have revealed extensive details about the abuse numerous women endured over the past 16 years, including receiving inappropriate text messages and experiencing unwanted physical contact.

In one message, 'Swami Chaitanyananda' attempted to entice a woman by promising wealth. In another, he intimidated someone with academic consequences, stating, "... if you don't obey me, I will fail you..."

Based on investigations and recovered messages, authorities believe 'Swami Chaitanyananda', born as Parthasarathy in Odisha, has been targeting women for at least 16 years, growing more confident after escaping consequences in two previously filed molestation cases from 2009 and 2016.

What's particularly alarming is that the second case was filed by a young woman from the same Vasant Kunj ashram, yet apparently no action was taken by either law enforcement or ashram officials.

Delhi Baba's Sexual Harassment MO

Police sources informed NDTV that the 'godman' would contact his victims through WhatsApp calls or messages. Initially, many messages appeared non-threatening. When these early communications failed to achieve his desired response, the 'Swami' would resort to academic blackmail.

According to police, the women he targeted came from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), likely because the 'Swami' anticipated neither the women nor their families would speak out.

He reportedly received assistance from three female wardens, who may have also pressured and intimidated the victims through WhatsApp messages and calls.

Statements from the wardens have been recorded by authorities.

Where Is 'Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati'?

He was in London when this scandal emerged - with 17 women filing complaints at Delhi's Defence Colony Police Station in early August - and was last spotted in Agra, according to police.

Two earlier cases from 2009 and 2016 remain on record. The first involves molestation and fraud charges, for which he was briefly detained.

Additionally, the 'godman' faces two other charges. One relates to using counterfeit diplomatic number plates - for a United Nations vehicle - on a saffron-colored Volvo sedan discovered at the ashram that he reportedly used. In fact, multiple fake plates were seized.

The fifth charge concerns fraudulent behavior, following a complaint from the ashram itself. Ashram officials stated they had 'expelled' the 'godman' after the sexual assault allegations surfaced.

The Delhi unit he managed is affiliated with a prominent religious organization from South India, the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetha in Sringeri, which described his actions as "inappropriate".
