The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Jodhpur, Rajasthan was officially inaugurated on Thursday. This magnificent temple has been designed to serve as a haven for devotion, tranquility, and cultural heritage.

This sacred structure is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781-1830 CE), who established the Swaminarayan Sampradaya and advocated for moral living and social advancement.

The creation of this temple was inspired by the vision of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, whose leadership resulted in the establishment of more than 1,200 temples, cultural centers, educational institutions, and humanitarian projects globally. The project was completed under the guidance of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present spiritual leader.

It represents a revival of traditional Nagara-style architecture while incorporating modern design elements.

The temple complex spans 42 bighas, featuring 10 bighas of gardens, 500 trees, and 5,500 plants.

The main temple structure measures 191 ft, 181 ft, and 111 ft, adorned with five shikhars, one grand dome, and 14 smaller domes.

More than 500 skilled artisans devoted seven years to creating this architectural marvel. During construction, they received comprehensive support including housing, healthcare, and cultural amenities.
