Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has recounted how his initial meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi created an "enduring impact" on his perspective.
In a post on X, the BJP leader reminisced, "My first encounter with Narendra Modi ji in Nagpur was unexpected in how profoundly it would influence me. At that time, I was serving as a young mayor, enthusiastic about gaining insights from our party's veteran leadership."
Fadnavis explained that the interaction occurred during an Abhyaas Varg organized at Reshimbagh, where he was functioning as the president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Nagpur, and had coordinated the gathering. "We had prepared accommodations for every attendee. Appropriate rest facilities were arranged for all distinguished guests," he noted.
What impressed him most significantly was the Prime Minister's accommodation preference. While other leaders opted for the designated guest facilities, PM Modi "simply expressed his desire to stay in the modest room within Reshimbagh intended for Sangh karyakartas."
PM Modi maintains profound connections with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), having become a member during his boyhood. By 1972, he had embraced the role of a full-time pracharak, completely dedicating himself to the organization's missions.

Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that PM Modi's accommodation choice created a profound impression. "I was particularly moved by that decision. It demonstrated his humility and strong devotion to Sangh traditions. Throughout the event, he attentively monitored every detail and ensured all participants' comfort," he remarked.
Fadnavis continued, "That initial meeting formed my perception of him. I witnessed a leader who prioritized simplicity over extravagance and service over position. This image of Narendra Modi ji has consistently remained with me."
This reflection emerges as Prime Minister Narendra Modi approaches his 75th birthday on September 17. This milestone is being celebrated as part of "Seva Pakhwada 2025," a nationwide initiative launched by the BJP.
The campaign, extending over 15 days until October 2, will feature various public welfare activities across India.
