Tragic Incident in Pune: 16-Year-Old Student Fatally Stabbed by Classmate Over Previous Dispute

The juvenile suspect was subsequently apprehended and brought before the juvenile court, as authorities confirmed.

A tragic incident unfolded in Pune district on Monday when a 16-year-old boy lost his life after allegedly being attacked with a knife by a fellow classmate inside a coaching center classroom, according to police reports.

Investigators believe the violent attack stemmed from a previous disagreement between the two Class 10 students, as revealed by authorities.

The fatal incident occurred at a private coaching establishment in Rajgurunagar, police officials stated.

"According to preliminary information, the victim and the assailant had experienced a minor altercation several months ago. Recently, the deceased student and his friends had physically confronted the accused, which had apparently provoked his anger," explained an officer from the Khed police station.

"During the class session on Monday, the accused arrived with a concealed knife in his bag and positioned himself behind the victim. He then launched an attack, targeting the victim's throat and abdomen before fleeing the scene. The injured student was immediately transported to a hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his wounds," the officer continued.

Police confirmed that the accused was later detained and presented before the juvenile court for proceedings.

Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the case, with particular focus on examining the angle of pre-existing hostility between the students.
