21-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured After Falling From Hotel Balcony During Police Raid in Bengaluru

A 21-year-old woman sustained severe injuries after falling from a hotel balcony in Bengaluru while attempting to escape via a drainpipe, following a police intervention during the early hours of Sunday.

According to the complaint lodged by her father, Antony, his daughter had visited Sea Esta Lodge in Brookefield with seven friends for a celebration. The group had reserved three rooms and were partying from approximately 1 am until nearly 5 am.

During their gathering, nearby residents reportedly contacted police through the 112 emergency helpline, complaining about noise disturbances. Police officers subsequently arrived at the lodge and reportedly admonished the group for creating a commotion that was disturbing local residents.

There are unverified allegations that money was demanded from the male participants, though this claim has not been officially confirmed.

Following the interaction with police, the young woman allegedly became panicked and attempted to escape from the fourth-floor room by climbing down a drainpipe from the balcony. During this attempt, she lost her balance and fell, resulting in serious injuries.

Her friends immediately transported her to a hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

Based on the complaint, authorities have registered a case against the owner of Sea Esta Lodge. The case alleges negligence by the lodge management, claiming that adequate safety measures were not implemented in the balcony area.

The complaint has requested a thorough investigation including questioning of the daughter's friends, lodge staff, and police personnel who were present at the scene, to ensure justice is served.

Police officials have stated that further investigation is ongoing to establish the precise sequence of events and determine responsibility in the incident.
