In Kendrapara, Odisha, authorities detained a 14-year-old student on Saturday after an alarming incident where the boy allegedly threatened his school headmaster by displaying a country-made revolver inside the classroom.

Following his apprehension, the Class-9 student appeared before the Juvenile Justice Board, which subsequently transferred him to the Probation Hostel-cum-Observation Home & Special Home located in Angul, according to police statements.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred after teachers and the headmaster of the government-operated Korua High School reprimanded the minor for his academic negligence and disruptive classroom behavior, prompting the student to produce the weapon.

"We are currently investigating the student's family members, including parents and relatives, to determine the source of the firearm," a police officer stated.

Authorities have confiscated the country-made revolver and confirmed that investigations into the matter are continuing.
