Fatal Altercation in Punjab: Woman Killed After Attacking Partner in Hotel Dispute

Police have confirmed that the deceased woman's body has been taken for postmortem examination.

In a tragic incident in Punjab's Ludhiana district, a woman was killed by her lover following a violent altercation where she severely injured his genitals in a hotel room.

According to authorities, the couple had checked into the accommodation on Friday. During their stay, the woman reportedly pressured her partner, identified as Amit Nishad, to marry her, which sparked an argument. As the dispute escalated, she allegedly attacked him with a sharp object, targeting his private parts, causing serious injuries and profuse bleeding.

In retaliation to the assault, Nishad strangled the woman to death before leaving the premises, police officials stated.

Investigators revealed that the deceased was a mother of two and was currently undergoing divorce proceedings with her husband. She had reportedly formed a relationship with Nishad during this separation period.

Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner of Police Rupinder Singh confirmed that while the accused has been arrested, he is currently receiving medical treatment at a Chandigarh hospital due to the critical nature of his genital injuries.

Authorities continue their investigation to determine the complete sequence of events surrounding this violent incident.
