Kerala Election Results 2025: Vote counting commenced at 8 AM across the state under tight security measures.

In Kottayam, Kerala, the counting of votes for the 2025 local body elections is currently in progress, with early trends suggesting a competitive race between the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).

The vote counting process began at 8 AM on Saturday at 244 designated counting centers throughout Kerala, with strict security arrangements in place.

As per the trends available on the State Election Commission website at 10:15 AM, the LDF was leading in 353 Grama Panchayat seats, while the UDF showed leads in 309 seats. The NDA was ahead in 30 seats, and other parties were leading in 13 seats, out of a total of 941 Grama Panchayat positions. These figures highlight a closely contested election with both major political fronts performing competitively across various regions.

In the District Panchayat segment, the UDF held a slight advantage, leading in seven out of 14 seats, compared to the LDF's six seats. Neither the NDA nor other parties have secured leads in any District Panchayat seats thus far.

For municipalities, out of 87 seats, the UDF demonstrated stronger performance with leads in 48 seats, while the LDF was ahead in 30 seats. The NDA led in one seat, with other parties leading in two seats. In Corporation elections, the UDF was leading in four out of six seats, with the LDF and NDA each leading in one seat, indicating the UDF's stronger position in urban local bodies.

BJP leader Shaun George expressed optimism about the NDA's electoral prospects. Speaking to ANI in Kottayam, he stated, "We are very confident that the BJP will secure a good margin in the central Kerala belt, and we will also achieve a strong victory this time in South Kerala. People who have traditionally depended on the UDF and Kerala Congress will shift their support to the BJP this time."

As counting continues across several districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Mallappuram, and Kottayam, the final results are anticipated later in the day.
