A sixth-grade student from Noida passed away under mysterious circumstances after collapsing during Teacher's Day celebrations at her school, prompting her mother to make an emotional plea for justice in a video that has since gone viral.
Tanishka Sharma collapsed at Presidium School in Noida's Sector 31 on September 4. School authorities rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Several weeks following the incident, Tanishka's mother, Tripta Sharma, shared a heartbreaking video on social media platforms seeking answers about her daughter's death.
"Hello everyone, I am Tripta Sharma, mother of the late Tanishka Sharma. She was a student in Class 6B at Presidium School, Sector 31, Noida. On September 4, I dropped her at school for Teacher's Day celebrations. Around 11:30 am, teachers called informing me that my daughter had fainted and they were taking her to Kailash Hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, doctors told me my daughter was brought in deceased. This news completely devastated me," Mrs. Sharma explained in her video.
She continued, "I performed her final rites with my own hands. The agony I'm experiencing is beyond description. It's been 15 days since my daughter's passing. I had left her at school—a place considered a second home, a safe environment where we entrust our children's well-being. Yet she died within those very walls."
In her emotional appeal, Mrs. Sharma expressed her desire to understand what happened during her daughter's final moments.
"I understand she won't return, but we deserve to know what happened to her in her final moments. I'm simply seeking justice and the truth," she stated.
In another social media post, Mrs. Sharma wrote: "As a mother, I deserve knowledge, honesty, and the truth about what happened to my child. I'm demanding answers. Let me preserve her memory with clarity rather than confusion. Allow me to grieve with responses, not silence."
Initially, the school reportedly claimed the girl choked on food, but later statements indicated she had collapsed—raising suspicion among family members. The autopsy revealed no external injuries, with the cause of death remaining undetermined. Police officials stated that viscera samples have been preserved for forensic examination.
The family reportedly accused the school administration of negligence, emphasizing that Tanishka had been in good health.
On September 8, Tanishka's mother filed a police complaint requesting an investigation into the cause of her daughter's death.
Authorities have registered a case against the school and staff members. "We've filed the case at Sector 20 police station and are conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects," stated the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida.
Manavta Sharda, the school principal, responded: "The student became ill, and we immediately transported her to Kailash Hospital. Doctors declared her deceased after initial treatment. Police took the DVR when her parents approached us. We are fully cooperating, and statements have been recorded."
