On Sunday, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, visited a school for differently-abled children in Dhanbad and inaugurated a cafe designed to provide vocational training opportunities. His visit coincided with his attendance at the centenary celebration of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) in Dhanbad.

Adani dedicated time at the Narayani Charitable Trust and its Pehla Kadam School, where he praised the institution for its exceptional work in supporting and empowering children with special needs. During his visit, he committed to providing continued support to enhance and expand the school's facilities over the next three years.

The highlight of his visit was the inauguration of Nayi Udaan Cafe, a specially designed space where students will receive practical training in cafe operations, food preparation, customer service, and related skills. This initiative aims to foster independence and build confidence among students, preparing them for future employment opportunities.

Footage from the event captured Adani interacting warmly with the staff and students, seated at a table inside the cafe as visitors approached to greet him and take photographs. School representatives informed him that they currently provide support to approximately 250 children.

In his address to the staff, Adani emphasized the importance of creating equal opportunities for everyone in society.

He stressed the necessity of ensuring that differently-abled children receive appropriate support that aligns with their potential. Adani noted that the Nayi Udaan Cafe initiative would not only provide them with valuable vocational skills but also help them gain equal recognition and respect in society.

Most of the students at Pehla Kadam School come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The school offers free special education, physiotherapy, speech therapy, vocational training, life-skills sessions, and healthcare services. Several students have represented Jharkhand in national para sports competitions, showcasing their abilities on a broader platform.

According to an official statement, the work of the Narayani Trust and Pehla Kadam School has received recognition at both state and national levels, including honors from the Governor of Jharkhand and the President of India.

The organization reported that Adani's visit significantly boosted the morale and enthusiasm of the children at the school.
