A total of 11 crew members aboard the Pakistani boat were detained during the operation and subsequently transferred to Jakhau Marine Police in Gujarat for further investigation and legal proceedings.
According to Gujarat Defence PRO Wing Commander Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, the interception occurred on Wednesday when the ICG apprehended the Pakistani fishing boat within India's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The Wing Commander shared this information through an official statement on social media platform X.
The operation, described as swift and coordinated, took place on December 10, 2025, demonstrating the ICG's vigilance in monitoring India's maritime borders. The Pakistani vessel was found to be in clear violation of international maritime boundaries.
In their official communication, the Indian Coast Guard emphasized that this interdiction highlights their sustained maritime operations and reflects India's strong commitment to securing its frontiers while enforcing international laws within the Maritime Zones of India (MZI).
"Continuous vigilance across India's maritime domain remains a cornerstone of our national maritime security strategy," the Wing Commander stated.
The ICG further elaborated on social media that this decisive action demonstrates their unwavering vigilance and India's firm resolve to protect its maritime frontiers while upholding international maritime law within the MZI.
