Delhi Police Bust Major Counterfeit Castrol Engine Oil Operation in Alipur

Delhi Police have uncovered and dismantled a significant counterfeit Castrol engine oil manufacturing operation in Alipur, seizing hundreds of liters of fake products and thousands of packaging materials. The illegal facility had been operating for six months, distributing counterfeit lubricants across Delhi markets, with two operators from Sonepat identified as suspects.

Delhi Police have dismantled a significant counterfeit engine oil operation in Alipur, confiscating a substantial quantity of fraudulent Castrol-branded products intended for market distribution. Following specific intelligence received on December 9, the District Investigation Unit (DIU) conducted a raid on the Alipur facility, accompanied by Castrol Limited representatives who verified the authenticity of the materials.

The police operation yielded 239 liters of counterfeit Castrol oil, 304 empty bottles bearing the company's labels, 3,000 barcode stickers, over 700 Castrol bottlecaps, and 11,200 MRP stickers for various Castrol products. Authorities also confiscated production equipment including a sealing machine, an iron, a plastic funnel, measurement tools, an oil pump, a gauge, and orange liquid dye used in the manufacturing process.

Investigators revealed that this illicit operation had been functioning for approximately six months, distributing fake lubricants throughout parts of Delhi. Two individuals have been identified as operators: 27-year-old Ajay Bhardwaj from Sonepat and 22-year-old Sachin Sharma from Jeevan Vihar, Sonepat.

The comprehensive inventory of seized items includes 10,060 Castrol Activ 20W-40 MRP stickers, 1,160 Castrol GTX 20W-50 MRP stickers, 100 bottles of Castrol Activ 20W-40 (1 liter), 99 bottles of Castrol RX Super 15W-40 (1 liter), and four buckets of Castrol CRB Plus 20W-40 (10 liter), alongside thousands of packaging components.

Police officials stated that investigations are continuing to identify the broader network involved in this counterfeit operation.
