New Delhi:
Three minors have been detained by the Delhi Police for allegedly stabbing a teenager to death following a dispute. The victim had reportedly slapped the accused previously, officials announced on Wednesday.
A PCR call reporting a stabbing incident was received at approximately 1:45 pm from North West Delhi's Kanjhawala area. Police teams immediately rushed to Savitri Hospital, where they found the teenage victim with critical stab wounds. Doctors had already pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Authorities have registered a case under Sections 103(1) (Murder) and 3(5) (Joint liability) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The mobile crime team and forensic experts from FSL Rohini thoroughly examined the crime scene and collected evidence from the location.
Police officials stated that through a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, they were able to identify the suspects, who were subsequently detained from various locations across the city.
During the interrogation process, the three minors allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. Police recovered a knife from a location revealed by the suspects during questioning. Preliminary investigation indicates that the violent attack stemmed from previous enmity between the boys, specifically when the victim had slapped the accused in a prior altercation.
Officials confirmed that all three detained minors are school dropouts who had only studied until Class 8. The investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence.
