Refused Cigarettes On Credit, Group Thrashes Shopkeeper With Sticks

The victim, identified as Mullu alias Moolchand Kushwaha, suffered severe injuries following a brutal assault.

In Bhopal, what began as a simple refusal to provide cigarettes on credit escalated into a violent attack that transformed the main thoroughfare outside Gadrauli village in Gwalior district into a scene of shocking brutality.

A disturbing video circulating widely across social media platforms captures the horrific incident where several young men forcibly throw a shopkeeper onto the road and ruthlessly beat him with sticks and rods.

According to police reports, the incident occurred approximately at 5 pm on Tuesday. Mullu was attending to his small retail establishment when a group of youths from a neighboring village approached demanding cigarettes without immediate payment. His refusal prompted Rahul Shukla to verbally abuse him, rapidly transforming the disagreement into physical violence. Within moments, three additional youths joined the attack.

The viral footage reveals the attackers dragging the shopkeeper onto the street, where they repeatedly struck him with wooden implements and kicked him while he screamed in agony. Disturbingly, the assailants can be heard laughing throughout the attack, while onlookers merely recorded the violence instead of stepping in to help.

Following the video's widespread distribution online, authorities filed charges against four suspects late Tuesday evening. The victim is currently receiving medical care for his injuries.

A law enforcement representative stated, "We have registered a case based on the victim's statement. The perpetrators will be apprehended shortly." Multiple police teams have been dispatched to locate the attackers, who escaped from the area immediately after the assault.
