Seven-Year-Old Girl Brutally Assaulted With Iron Rod After Rape Attempt in Gujarat: Suspect Arrested

A shocking incident has been reported from Rajkot, Gujarat, where a seven-year-old girl was severely assaulted with an iron rod following an attempted rape.

The young victim sustained serious injuries and required immediate hospitalization. Police confirmed that she is now in stable condition. Her parents, originally from Dahod, make their living in Rajkot as sharecroppers.

Police have arrested Ramsingh Tejsingh, a Madhya Pradesh native, in connection with this heinous crime. The suspect, who is married, had been working in a field adjacent to where the victim's family works.

This disturbing case bears tragic similarities to the infamous 2012 Nirbhaya rape case from Delhi.

According to Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh Gurjar, the incident occurred on the morning of December 4 in the Atkot area of Jasdan. The perpetrator attempted to rape the child and then brutally injured her private parts with an iron rod.

Upon receiving information about the attack, police immediately transported the girl to a Rajkot hospital. They formed ten specialized teams to locate the perpetrator, interrogating suspects and analyzing CCTV footage from neighboring villages. The breakthrough in the case came when the young victim identified Ramsingh Tejsingh from a photograph.

Following his identification, police swiftly arrested the suspect and recovered the iron rod used in the assault.

Ramsingh is scheduled to appear in court, with police planning to request a seven-day remand period. Law enforcement has enlisted forensic experts and is working diligently to file charges and expedite the judicial process.

The senior police officer confirmed that "The girl is being discharged from the hospital."
