Delhi Police have made a significant breakthrough in identifying the two shooters responsible for multiple firing incidents at comedian Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Canada. According to Delhi Police sources, the perpetrators, Sharry (alias Gurjot) and Daljot Rehal, have connections to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The identification came during interrogation of Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, arrested last month for his involvement in the shootings at Sharma's Kap's Cafe in Surrey, Canada. Investigators determined that Singh provided weapons and logistical support to the shooters who targeted the establishment on three separate occasions since its opening in July.
Kapil Sharma's high-profile cafe in British Columbia became the target of sophisticated weapon attacks on July 10, August 7, and again on October 16.
Police sources revealed, "The investigation established that Bandhu Maan Singh supplied weapons and a vehicle to Lawrence Bishnoi's close associate, Goldy Dhillon, following orders from gangster Sonu Khatri, also known as Rajesh. Khatri's cousins, Daljot and Sherry, executed the shootings on all three occasions at Kaps Cafe."
Authorities have also identified the mastermind behind these attacks. "The two Punjabi-origin shooters, Sharry and Diljot Rehal, carried out these shootings under the direction of an alleged gangster named Seepu," police sources confirmed.
The investigation uncovered troubling international connections. Singh is reportedly a close associate of Pakistan-based gangster Harry Chatha, who has been linked to cross-border weapon smuggling into India. Intelligence suggests Chatha operates under the direction of Pakistan's spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). With Chatha's assistance, Singh allegedly smuggles weapon shipments from Pakistan into India.
Singh had traveled to India from Canada on August 23 this year before being apprehended by Delhi Police in Ludhiana during the last week of November.
The identification of the shooters and their connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has intensified the investigation. Central agencies are now collaborating with Canadian authorities to locate and arrest the perpetrators responsible for creating significant terror through their repeated attacks.
During the first attack on July 10, approximately 10 rounds were fired at the cafe's windows while employees were inside. Harjit Singh Laddi, connected to a local terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for this attack.
The second incident occurred on August 28, when around 25 shots were fired at the establishment. A video of the shooting featured a voice threatening that the next action would take place in Mumbai if Sharma didn't answer their call. Following this incident, Sharma's security was enhanced.
The most recent attack took place on October 16, with footage showing an assailant extending his arm from a car window and discharging at least 12 shots from a handgun.
