A brazen daylight robbery has sent shockwaves through Jamui district in Bihar, where approximately six criminals impersonating police officers invaded a government teacher's residence and stole jewelry valued at nearly Rs 15 lakh.
The incident, which occurred in the Simratala police station jurisdiction, has created significant fear among residents in the area, raising critical concerns about regional security. The robbery took place Monday morning at approximately 6:35 a.m. in Telwa Bazaar.
Sanjeev Kumar, the government school teacher, was at home when six individuals dressed in police uniforms arrived carrying sticks and pistols. They claimed to be law enforcement officers and informed him about an alleged warrant issued against him from the Chakai police station.
Upon opening his door, the imposters forcibly entered Kumar's residence and began searching throughout the home. They proceeded to steal wedding jewelry belonging to Kumar's daughter along with his wife's ornaments.
Before departing in a vehicle, the perpetrators threatened to take Sanjeev to Chakai police station. The victim later informed media representatives that the stolen jewelry had been saved for his daughter's forthcoming wedding, leaving his family emotionally devastated.
After receiving notification about the incident, Simratala police officers arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. They are currently examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area, with one camera having captured images of the thieves' vehicle.
Station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar stated that authorities are investigating the case from multiple perspectives and expressed confidence that the suspects would soon be identified and apprehended. Police officials have assured that every possible measure is being implemented to locate and arrest the criminals.
This bold daytime robbery has generated an atmosphere of anxiety throughout the community. Alarmed by the audacious crime, local inhabitants have emerged from their homes demanding enhanced police patrols and immediate security reinforcements in the area.
Many community members noted that criminals committing such brazen acts during morning hours demonstrates their increasing fearlessness. Despite the formation of the new NDA government and Samrat Chaudhary assuming responsibilities as Bihar's Home Minister, criminal incidents continue without abatement.
The rising frequency of robbery and violence cases suggests that criminals are operating with growing confidence and impunity in the region.
