India has officially condemned Pakistan's recent military strikes on Afghanistan that resulted in civilian casualties, emphasizing its support for Afghanistan's sovereignty. India Condemns Pakistan's Attacks On Afghanistan That Killed Civilians

India has officially condemned Pakistan's recent military actions against Afghanistan which resulted in civilian casualties. The Taliban government's spokesperson stated that Pakistan initiated these attacks, forcing Afghanistan to defend itself.

In New Delhi, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal addressed the situation during his weekly media briefing, stating: "We have seen reports of border clashes in which several Afghan civilians have been killed. We condemn such attacks on innocent Afghan people. India strongly supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Afghanistan."

These fresh hostilities erupted less than two months after both nations had established a ceasefire agreement. The border conflict originally began in early October following a Pakistani airstrike on Kabul, to which Afghanistan responded forcefully, leading to an escalation of tensions.

Notably, the initial confrontation occurred while Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi was on a diplomatic visit to India. These clashes represent the most serious military engagement between the two countries since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.

The earlier hostilities had been temporarily resolved through a ceasefire agreement on October 19, which was brokered with the diplomatic assistance of Qatar and Turkey.
