The Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu announced on Monday that the government will reduce IndiGo's winter flight schedule and redistribute those routes to other airlines following the carrier's significant operational disruptions.
"We will curtail IndiGo's routes. They are currently operating 2,200 flights. We will definitely curtail them," Naidu stated during an interview with Doordarshan news channel.
Naidu further revealed that refunds totaling Rs 745 crore have been processed for 7,30,655 cancelled PNRs between December 1 and 8 (as of 5 pm).
Additionally, the minister reported that 6,000 out of 9,000 passenger bags have already been delivered, with the remaining luggage expected to be returned to passengers by either Monday night or Tuesday morning.
