Hu Congtai's internet search history revealed queries regarding CRPF deployment and the abrogation of Article 370.

Authorities have sent the mobile phone of a detained Chinese national to forensic analysis after he was apprehended in Srinagar for violating visa regulations and visiting restricted areas in Ladakh and Kashmir without proper authorization. The investigation aims to determine whether he transmitted sensitive information.

The individual, identified as Hu Congtai, entered India through Delhi on November 19 with a tourist visa. He reportedly traveled to restricted zones including Leh, Zanskar, and various Kashmir Valley locations without completing mandatory registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

The 29-year-old spent three days in Zanskar, visiting monasteries and strategically significant locations. His visa only permitted travel to specific Buddhist religious sites such as Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya, and Kushinagar.

Hu's travels included visits to sensitive locations such as the Buddhist Monastery in Hawrwan and Buddhist Ruins in Awantipora in South Kashmir, situated near the Army's Victor Force headquarters. He also visited Hazratbal shrine, Shankracharya Hill, Dal Lake, and Mughal Garden.

Upon arriving in India, he obtained an Indian SIM card from an open market, raising additional concerns about his activities.

His browsing history contained searches related to CRPF deployment and Article 370 abrogation. Security agencies are investigating whether he deleted portions of his browsing history.

During interrogation, Hu claimed ignorance regarding visa regulation violations, but authorities remain committed to uncovering the truth behind his suspicious movements. He informed investigators of his physics studies at Boston University and his nine-year residence in the United States. Claiming to be a travel enthusiast, his passport showed previous visits to countries including the US, New Zealand, Brazil, Fiji, and Hong Kong.

Hu was taken to Police Post Humhama in Budgam district near Srinagar Airport for questioning, where authorities continue their investigation into his activities within India.
