Woman, Her Mother Kill 14-Year-Old Son, Die By Suicide In Bengaluru

The 38-year-old woman and her 68-year-old mother worked as domestic help to support themselves financially.

Bengaluru:

A tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru on Monday when a woman ended the life of her 14-year-old son before taking her own life along with her mother.

Initial investigations reveal that at approximately 9 AM, 38-year-old Sudha and her mother, 68-year-old Madamma, first took the life of the boy, Maunish, before consuming poison themselves.

Authorities believe that financial difficulties and emotional distress may have driven the mother and grandmother to this desperate action.

Police reports indicate that Sudha and Muddamma previously operated a small eatery specializing in biryani. After experiencing financial losses, they transitioned to selling chips and milk before ultimately working as domestic helpers to make ends meet.

The mounting debt from their failed business ventures appears to have contributed significantly to their desperate decision.

According to police, Sudha had separated from her husband several years earlier and subsequently moved into her mother's residence with her son.

Sarah Fatima, Deputy Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru's Southeast division, inspected the scene to search for a suicide note or other relevant evidence.

"The boy was a Class 7 student at Christ School. We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the precise cause of these deaths. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination," DCP Fatima stated, as reported by IANS.

She added that the exact circumstances behind the suicides would only be confirmed after the completion of the post-mortem examinations.

The bodies have been transported for autopsy, and a comprehensive investigation continues.
