Royal Enfield Motorcycle Bet Between BJP and NCP Supporters Adds Excitement to Maharashtra Local Elections

A friendly wager involving a Royal Enfield motorcycle has added excitement to Maharashtra's local body elections in Solapur's Akluj town.

As Maharashtra awaits the results of its local body elections, an interesting rivalry has emerged in Akluj town of Solapur district. Two friends who support opposing political parties have placed a unique bet on the outcome. The supporter of the winning candidate will receive a Royal Enfield motorcycle from the other.

Machhindra Karanawar is backing Reshma Adgale, the NCP(SP) candidate, while his friend Dada Tarange has placed his confidence in BJP's Pooja Kothmire. Both supporters appear equally confident about their candidate's victory in this local contest.

In a video showing their friendly banter, one of them states confidently: "There will be a bullet motorcycle here on December 21. Whoever wins the municipal council head seat will give the other a bike."

This isn't the first time such a wager has occurred in Akluj. During last year's Lok Sabha elections, supporters of BJP and NCP(SP) made a similar bet, highlighting the competitive yet friendly political atmosphere in the town.

The results of these local body elections are scheduled to be announced on December 21. Voting took place on December 2, but the counting was postponed from the original December 3 date following a directive from the Bombay High Court to the Maharashtra State Election Commission.

These local polls are being closely monitored as they represent the first electoral test following the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance's overwhelming victory in the November 2024 assembly elections, where they secured 235 out of 288 seats in the state legislature.
