While presiding over a project meeting, Mr. Fadnavis emphasized that this service will be particularly vital in the commercial district between Kurla and Bandra railway stations, an area expected to experience significant commuter traffic due to the forthcoming bullet train station and new Mumbai High Court complex.

"Mumbai is developing a unified card system for all transportation modes. Pod taxis should be integrated into this system as well," stated the Chief Minister.

Mr. Fadnavis instructed officials to undertake the development of Kurla and Bandra station precincts alongside the project, and to establish pod taxi routes connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex buildings with these stations.

Pod taxis are components of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) systems, featuring fully automated, driverless electric vehicles that operate on elevated tracks to transport small groups of passengers.
