Extra Coach Added To Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Amid IndiGo Flight Disruption

Northern Railways has announced the addition of an extra coach to the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express for a period of seven days starting December 5, in response to the ongoing IndiGo flight disruptions.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal stated that this measure has been implemented to assist stranded passengers and provide them with an alternative travel option.

"In response to the current flight disruptions, Indian Railways has made a significant decision to add one 3rd AC coach with 72 seats to the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express for the next seven days beginning tonight," Singhal explained.

Passengers affected by flight cancellations can now secure seats in this additional coach by making reservations through the normal booking channels.

Reports indicate that 11 IndiGo flights from Jammu airport have been cancelled due to operational issues impacting the airline's schedule.

The situation at Jammu airport has become chaotic, with numerous passengers left in uncertainty following these cancellations. This has led to protests against the airline for allegedly failing to respond adequately to passengers' distress calls.

Stranded travelers now have this railway option as a potential solution to their travel difficulties during this disruption period.
