The police investigation revealed that the brother confessed to carrying out the murder under his sister's instructions.
In Thane district of Maharashtra, authorities have apprehended a woman along with three accomplices for allegedly murdering her husband, whose partially burned remains were discovered on a highway.
According to Friday's police statement, the Thane Rural police have filed charges against Hasina Mehboob Shaikh, her brother Fayaz Zakir Husain Shaikh (35), and two additional individuals who conspired and executed the killing after the victim refused to grant his wife a divorce.
Officials reported that the partially incinerated and decomposed body of Tipanna, originally from Siruguppa village in Karnataka's Bellary district, was located near Shahapur along the Mumbai-Nashik Highway on November 25.
Police investigations indicate that Tipanna and Hasina were living separately due to domestic conflicts, with Hasina demanding a divorce that Tipanna consistently refused to provide.
"Our preliminary findings suggest the primary motivation was the victim's refusal to consent to divorce, which led the accused to orchestrate his murder with assistance from her family members and acquaintances," stated Inspector Mukesh Dhage of the Shahapur police station.
Following Hasina's directives, her brother, who works as an autorickshaw driver, and his associates lured the victim for a ride on November 17. They transported him to a forested location near Shahapur, where they allegedly killed him, attempted to burn the evidence, and subsequently abandoned the body near the highway.
Authorities registered charges under sections 103(1) (murder) and 238 (destruction of evidence), eventually identifying the suspects through thorough investigation.
During questioning, Fayaz admitted that the homicide was executed according to his sister Hasina's instructions.
