Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar Dismisses BJP Allegations Over Watch Disclosure

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar confidently refuted BJP MLC Narayanaswamy's allegations about undisclosed luxury watches, affirming complete transparency in his financial affidavit. Amid growing political tensions, Shivakumar highlighted his government's women empowerment initiatives while Union Minister Prahlad Joshi criticized the Congress administration for alleged corruption and factionalism between Shivakumar and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

My Watch, My Affidavit, What Do They Know? DK Shivakumar Slams BJP

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar firmly addressed accusations on Thursday regarding his personal assets, stating that the BJP lacks knowledge about his financial disclosures.

Responding to BJP MLC Narayanaswamy's allegations that he failed to disclose an expensive watch in his affidavit, Shivakumar spoke confidently to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, asserting, "What does he know? I know about my affidavit. I personally paid for the watches and have disclosed all details with complete transparency. I have already declared ownership of a Rolex watch. There's nothing I need to learn from Narayanaswamy."

When journalists mentioned Narayanaswamy's claim that his watch was stolen, Shivakumar responded sarcastically, "Yes, I stole it from his house!"

The Deputy Chief Minister also commented on a convention for women employees, highlighting his government's commitment to women's empowerment. "Our government has implemented numerous initiatives to empower women. Today's women excel in all areas and demonstrate greater discipline than men. Our administration fully supports the women employees' organization and their functions."

Meanwhile, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has criticized the Congress government in Karnataka, claiming internal division, governmental failure, and widespread corruption and infrastructure problems across the state.

Joshi stated, "They realize they won't return to power, so DK Shivakumar and his supporters want him to receive half the share, but Siddaramaiah refuses. Their government has become bankrupt... nothing is happening except corruption. Factionalism is evident. Just look at Bengaluru's condition, filled with potholes..."

Regarding Rahul Gandhi's recent statements, Joshi remarked, "The relationship between Russia and India remains very strong... Regarding Rahul Gandhi's comments, the appropriate officials will address them... Decisions about meetings are determined by policy; the relevant authorities will speak on this matter."

These comments follow Rahul Gandhi's accusation that the central government has been advising foreign dignitaries against meeting with the Leader of Opposition.
