Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit West Bengal on December 20 as the Bharatiya Janata Party intensifies its preparations for the upcoming state Assembly elections. During this significant visit, the Prime Minister will participate in a major public event in Nadia district where he will address a rally to strengthen the party's presence in the region.
Sources indicate that PM Modi will also convene with BJP's Bengal leadership to assess electoral readiness. The meeting will involve comprehensive discussions on organizational preparedness, campaign strategy, critical issues, and the overall direction of the party's election efforts in the state.
The BJP has outlined plans to launch between 4 to 6 Parivartan Yatras across West Bengal starting January next year. These processions are designed to enhance public engagement throughout various districts, reinforce organizational structures, and highlight issues concerning the current Trinamool government. Reports suggest that the Prime Minister may address one of these major Parivartan Yatras, potentially intensifying the political climate in the state.
Concurrently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah plans to establish himself in West Bengal beginning January. Shah will conduct detailed assessments of ground-level conditions at the booth level, concentrate on strengthening organizational capabilities, and expedite the party's policy formulation and election strategy. His extended presence is anticipated to enhance the BJP's preparedness for the upcoming state elections.
For the forthcoming assembly elections, the BJP intends to highlight key issues including deteriorating law and order, corruption allegations, women's safety concerns, cross-border infiltration, and various local governance issues that affect residents directly.
The party leadership believes that with the evolving political landscape in Bengal and increasing public dissatisfaction with the current government, the combination of Parivartan Yatras and high-profile visits by the Prime Minister and Home Minister will constitute a crucial element of their comprehensive election strategy.
