21-Year-Old Aspiring Pilot Found Dead in Ancestral Kolkata Home After Returning from South Africa Training

Kolkata authorities discovered the body of a 21-year-old aspiring pilot in mysterious circumstances at his unoccupied ancestral home in North Kolkata's Girish Park area.

The deceased, identified as Soumyaditya Kundu, had recently returned from South Africa after completing his pilot training program. According to police sources, his body was found hanging in the family's ancestral property.

Family members reported that Soumyaditya had been noticeably withdrawn since his return to India. While initial evidence suggests suicide, investigators are puzzled by a peculiar detail—a tablet recovered from the scene had the word "LOST" written on white paper attached to its back.

Police officials are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine what might have prompted the young man to take such drastic action.

According to information gathered from police sources, Soumyaditya occasionally visited the otherwise uninhabited ancestral house. His family stated that he left home around 4 p.m. on Wednesday and never returned.

Growing concerned, family members eventually broke into the ancestral property, where they discovered his body. Police were immediately notified. The discovery has devastated the family, who acknowledged that while Soumyaditya had been quiet since his return from South Africa and had sought medical consultation, they never imagined he would take his own life.

Questions have emerged regarding possible depression. The father of the deceased explained, "He hadn't answered my calls since Wednesday afternoon. He had only one friend, whom I contacted. Together we searched for him. I tracked his location to Girish Park. When we broke the lock, we found him in this condition."

A senior Kolkata Police officer confirmed that a case of unnatural death has been registered. "The body has been recovered and sent for autopsy. The cause of death will be determined once we receive the autopsy report. Initial evidence suggests suicide, but our investigation is ongoing."
