Adani and Google have formed a strategic partnership to establish 1 GW AI data centres in Andhra Pradesh.
Amaravati:
The government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated 480 acres of land across Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts to Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, which has been designated as a 'notified partner' of Google company Raiden Infotech India, for the development of 1 GW AI Data Centres in the state.
Previously, the Google entity had informed state authorities that Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, AdaniConneX India Pvt Ltd, Adani Power India Pvt Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nxtra Data Ltd and Nxtra Vizag Limited were its 'notified partners' for this project.
Raiden specifically requested that all three land parcels identified by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC) be allocated to Adani Infra (India) as the primary notified partner, contingent upon completing necessary surveys and taking possession of the land.
"The Government, after careful examination of the proposal, and as per the approval accorded by the council of ministers in its meeting dated 28/11/2025 hereby accords permission for the transfer of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts to M/s Adani Infra (India) Private Limited," stated the order issued on December 2.
Raiden Infotech India Pvt Ltd, which plans to develop Data Centers in phases with a total investment exceeding Rs 87,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh, will receive approximately Rs 22,000 crore in incentives from the state government over a period of time.
According to the Government Order, Raiden has requested authorities to authorize its notified partners, along with Raiden itself, to access all incentives promised by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's administration for the Data Centre Project.
The GO further noted that this project will be constructed to meet the same rigorous standards that power Google's flagship services including Search, YouTube and Workspace.
The capacity of data centres is typically measured by power consumption. The planned 1 GW facility (consuming 1000 MW of electricity at full operational capacity) in Visakhapatnam is projected to utilize electricity equivalent to nearly 50 percent of Mumbai's annual consumption.
Chief Minister Naidu recently disclosed that while Google had initially announced an investment of USD 10 billion, the figure has since increased to USD 15 billion.
