West Bengal Electoral Anomaly: 29 Poll Booths Report Zero Dead, Duplicate, or Shifted Voters After Commission Investigation

The Election Commission of India has drastically revised the number of polling booths in West Bengal with zero deceased, duplicate, or shifted voters from 2,208 to just 29 following rigorous verification. The suspicious statistical anomaly prompted immediate investigation, with South 24 Parganas district showing the most significant correction from 760 to 20 booths. BJP representatives suggest continued verification may eliminate all remaining anomalies.

29 Poll Booths In Bengal Have 0 Dead, Duplicate Or Shifted Voters

The Election Commission has requested comprehensive reports from district magistrates regarding an unusual electoral anomaly in West Bengal.

In Kolkata, the number of polling booths in West Bengal identified as having zero dead voters, duplicate registrations, or relocated voters has dramatically decreased to just 29 as of Wednesday evening.

This represents a significant reduction from the startling figure of 2,208 booths reported on Monday evening, which had already fallen to 480 by Tuesday evening.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) initially identified these 2,208 polling stations in West Bengal that reportedly had no deceased, duplicate, or shifted voters - a statistically improbable scenario that raised immediate concerns.

Recognizing the implausibility of these figures, the commission promptly requested detailed explanations from the relevant district magistrates, who also serve as district electoral officers.

Within 24 hours, by Tuesday evening, the district magistrates submitted updated reports to the commission, reducing the number of such anomalous electoral booths to 480.

Sources within the Chief Electoral Officer's office in West Bengal revealed that, dissatisfied with the revised count of 480 booths on Tuesday night, the commission ordered an additional verification process.

According to Wednesday evening's latest report, the number of booths without any deceased, duplicate, or shifted voters has further decreased to just 29.

The latest ECI data shows that South 24 Parganas district experienced the most significant reduction, with the current count at only 20 booths compared to 760 reported on Monday night.

BJP state representatives suggested that, considering the pattern of decline over the past 38 hours, it would not be surprising if the number of booths without any deceased, duplicate, or shifted voters reaches zero by Thursday evening.
