The parents of a victimized student have requested a Transfer Certificate following a violent incident.

A disturbing case of ragging and physical assault has emerged from the Social Welfare Residential School and College in Rajapeta, Telangana. Approximately 20 senior students from Intermediate (class 12) reportedly attacked a 10th grade student using sticks and bats, resulting in multiple injuries that required hospitalization.

The attack occurred late Saturday evening but was allegedly concealed by school officials. The incident only became public knowledge after video footage of the assault began circulating across social media platforms.

The targeted student, who hails from Chada village and has been enrolled at the Rajapeta residential institution since fifth grade, was apparently attacked because he holds the position of Vice-Captain at the school.

Sources indicate that the senior students were reportedly resentful of a junior student occupying such a position of authority within the school hierarchy.

According to reports, the group of Intermediate students entered the victim's room armed with bats and sticks, verbally abused him, and proceeded to physically assault him. When another student attempted to document the incident on a mobile phone, the attackers turned off the lights and continued their violent assault.

Five additional 10th grade students who attempted to intervene and protect the victim were also severely beaten. Two of these students sustained serious injuries requiring advanced medical care at a hospital in Bhuvanagiri, while the others received first aid treatment at the Gurukulam's on-site medical facility.

The situation came to light on Tuesday when the victim's parents, Lavanya and Sudarshan, discovered disturbing video footage of the assault on social media and immediately went to the school.

The parents and their family members confronted Principal Sudhakar and teaching staff, expressing their outrage over the administration's failure to prevent the attack and subsequent attempt to conceal the incident for four days.

"They attempted to take my only son's life," stated Lavanya, showing the bruises covering her son's back and chest.

The family conducted a protest outside the college for over two hours, demanding severe consequences for the Principal, teachers, and all students involved in the assault. They also highlighted significant supervision negligence, claiming that inadequate oversight by staff has enabled students to develop addictions to prohibited substances including gutka, alcohol, and cigarettes. The parents have formally requested their son's Transfer Certificate.

The victim confirmed that he was specifically targeted by upperclassmen because his "responsibilities as Vice-Captain" were resented. His family has demanded that authorities file a First Information Report (FIR) against all 20 attackers.

Addressing the allegations and subsequent protests, Principal Sudhakar acknowledged the incident. He stated that the institution had conducted special meetings and counseling sessions over the previous two days. He further announced that seven students from both Intermediate and Class 10, identified as responsible for the violence, have been suspended.

The Principal also assured the community that a special meeting with all parents would be held on December 4 to provide counseling and implement strict measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

However, the administration's crisis management, initial attempts at concealment, and revelations of serious disciplinary problems—including unauthorized mobile phone usage, students freely leaving campus, and escalation to organized attacks using weapons—have received significant criticism.
