A security incident occurred at Varanasi's Kashi Tamil Sangam 4.0 event when Joginder Gupta, a mentally unstable and intoxicated water vendor, breached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's security perimeter. Security personnel quickly apprehended the man, who was later sent for medical examination and transferred to a mental health facility. On Tuesday, a man who appeared to be intoxicated managed to breach Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's security perimeter at the Kashi Tamil Sangam 4.0 event held at Namo Ghat, according to police reports.

The individual, who suffers from mental illness, was quickly apprehended by the chief minister's security commandos before he could reach the stage.

Additional Commissioner of Police Vidush Saxena identified the man as Joginder Gupta, who works as a water vendor at the city station. "The young man is a chronic drinker and arrived at the venue in an inebriated state. Joginder is also experiencing mental health issues and is currently receiving treatment," Saxena explained.

Officials confirmed that Gupta was taken for medical examination and subsequently transported to a mental health facility.

The officer noted that Gupta's family members verified his history of habitual drinking and mental instability.
