Delhi On High Alert Ahead Of Russian President Putin's 2-day India Visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to arrive in Delhi on December 4 for a two-day visit, prompting multiple security agencies to be placed on high alert across the national capital.

Official sources revealed on Tuesday that authorities are preparing an extensive security grid covering all of Putin's routes and planned engagements throughout Delhi.

While the Russian president's detailed itinerary has been finalized, specific details about his accommodation and exact whereabouts remain confidential due to stringent security protocols.

Police sources indicated that all agencies involved in security arrangements have received instructions to maintain continuous surveillance during this high-profile diplomatic visit.

"Every movement from his arrival until departure will be meticulously monitored by multiple security agencies. We are coordinating minute-to-minute movement details in real time," a source disclosed.

Senior officers of Delhi Police will personally oversee the comprehensive security arrangements, including traffic management and thorough sanitization of all areas the Russian president may visit during his stay.

"According to our prepared route plan, all locations on the movement map will be secured and sanitized well ahead of time. Public advisories regarding restrictions will be issued to minimize inconvenience to commuters," the source added.

More than 50 personnel from Russia's advance security and protocol teams are expected to arrive in the capital shortly. These teams will conduct detailed inspections of planned routes, potential stopovers, venues, and evaluate the overall security architecture.

"Delhi will operate under a multi-layered security ring during these two days, involving Delhi Police, central agencies, and Putin's personal security team. Specialized units including SWAT teams, anti-terror squads, and quick reaction teams will be strategically positioned across the capital. Drone monitoring, CCTV surveillance, and technical intelligence systems will provide real-time situational awareness," explained the source.

A police officer, speaking anonymously, emphasized that nothing is being left to chance in the security preparations.

Traffic diversions, restricted zones, and pedestrian limitations are anticipated around key areas, though officials have assured that announcements will be made in advance to minimize disruptions to daily life in the capital.
