Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi confirmed on Tuesday that Operation Sindoor "remains in progress" during his annual press conference.
New Delhi:
During his annual press conference, Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi revealed that the Indian Navy's aggressive posturing during Operation Sindoor in May effectively compelled the Pakistan Navy to remain confined near their ports.
Admiral Tripathi highlighted that the Indian Navy has maintained high operational readiness over the past seven-eight months, particularly in the Western Arabian Sea, following hostilities with Pakistan.
While not providing extensive details, the Navy chief emphasized that Operation Sindoor "remains in progress." He stated, "The aggressive posturing and immediate action during Operation Sindoor, including deployment of the carrier battle group forced Pakistan Navy to remain close to their ports or near the Makran coast."
Admiral Tripathi further noted that Operation Sindoor has imposed significant financial strain on Pakistan, as numerous merchant vessels have avoided traveling to the country since the hostilities began.
He added that insurance costs for vessels traveling to Pakistan have substantially increased as a result of the operation.
