Meerut Woman Accuses Police Sub-Inspector of Arson After Rejecting Advances: Investigation Underway

A beauty parlour owner in Meerut has filed a police complaint against Sub-Inspector Sneh Prakash Azad, alleging he burned her vehicles after she refused his advances for physical relations. Police have confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident that occurred on November 29, noting the two had a prior friendship before the reported altercation.

Police have noted that the woman and the sub-inspector had maintained a friendship for quite some time.

A beauty parlour proprietor in Meerut has registered a complaint against a police sub-inspector, alleging that he set fire to her scooter and her son's motorcycle that were parked outside her residence. Police officials confirmed on Monday that they have initiated an investigation into these allegations.

Circle Officer Antariksh Jain informed PTI that Ayesha, who runs a beauty parlour and resides in Kanshiram Colony within the Kotwali police station jurisdiction, submitted a complaint claiming that Sub-Inspector Sneh Prakash Azad, stationed at the police lines in Baghpat, was coercing her into physical relations. According to her complaint, when she refused his advances, Azad arrived at her home on November 29 accompanied by two associates and allegedly set both vehicles ablaze.

Police Inspector Yogesh Chandra stated that based on the woman's allegations, authorities have registered a case against the sub-inspector on multiple charges including assault, verbal abuse, and destruction of property.

Chandra further mentioned that while the woman and the sub-inspector have shared a lengthy friendship, an altercation reportedly occurred between them on the night of the incident.
