Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker K Raghurama Krishnam Raju has issued a stern warning to senior IPS officer PV Sunil Kumar regarding his alleged political and caste-based statements while serving in an official capacity.
The Deputy Speaker expressed concern over the former AP CID Chief's conduct, which he believes falls outside the appropriate behavior expected from an All India Services officer.
"An All India Services officer should refrain from making statements about caste and religion while actively serving," stated the Deputy Speaker. He further questioned the propriety of the officer's recent comments, asking, "How can an officer who is bound by service regulations and a code of conduct claim that the Chief Minister is unfit for his position?"
Raju announced his intention to formally communicate with both the Central and state governments, requesting disciplinary proceedings against Sunil Kumar for what he considers violations of service rules.
The Deputy Speaker suggested that resignation would be the appropriate course of action if the officer wished to participate in political discourse. "If Sunil Kumar desires to engage in politics, he should resign and then enter public life," Raju remarked.
This public admonishment highlights the ongoing political tension between the officer and the Deputy Speaker in Andhra Pradesh.
