Fatal Accident in Ghaziabad: Driver Falls Asleep, Car Plunges From Flyover Killing Father

A tragic accident occurred in Ghaziabad when a car driven by a young man named Prince crashed through the Rajnagar flyover railing after he dozed off while driving. The vehicle fell 50 feet into a PWD office compound, resulting in the death of his 48-year-old father, Rakesh Kumar, while Prince survived with injuries. The incident happened at approximately 3 am on Monday.

On Monday, a high-speed vehicle crashed through the protective railing of the Rajnagar flyover and plummeted nearly 50 feet, landing in a PWD office compound below. The catastrophic accident resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man and left his son with injuries, according to police reports.

Additional Commissioner of Police for Nandgram, Upasna Pandey, revealed that the accident occurred around 3 am when the driver, Prince (aged mid-twenties), apparently dozed off while driving.

Prince's father, Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Jagarati Vihar, was accompanying him in the vehicle. Both individuals became trapped within the severely damaged car and were subsequently rescued by police officers with assistance from local residents, the official stated.

They were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility, where medical professionals pronounced Rakesh Kumar deceased. Prince is currently receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition, police confirmed, adding that the deceased's body has been sent for autopsy examination.
