Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi celebrated his 63rd birthday with an extravagant party in London over the weekend. The celebration was attended by close friends, including controversial businessman Vijay Mallya.
Modi documented the festivities on Instagram, sharing videos of himself cutting a birthday cake, dancing, and socializing with guests at the exclusive Maddox Club in Mayfair. This high-end venue is known for its luxury atmosphere and reportedly requires a minimum table reservation of approximately 1,000 Pounds (around Rs 1.18 lakh).
The celebration featured a custom birthday track repeatedly playing "Happy birthday, Lalit. King of smiles" while Modi enjoyed the evening surrounded by friends amid disco lights and festive decorations.
In his Instagram post, Modi expressed gratitude to his partner Rima Bouri, writing: "What a beautiful dancing weekend with friends and family over my birthday. What a party you organised [Rima], the love of my life."

Among the attendees was Vijay Mallya, former owner of IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who also resides in London.
Earlier in July, Modi and Mallya were seen performing Frank Sinatra's "My Way" during a karaoke session at another lavish gathering in London. This "annual summer party," hosted at Modi's London residence, attracted over 310 guests, including some who traveled internationally to attend.
International cricket star Chris Gayle was also present at the summer event and shared a photograph with both Modi and Mallya, expressing appreciation for the "lovely evening." Modi jokingly suggested in his post that the video might "break the internet" and thanked musician Carlton Braganza for arranging the karaoke.
Both businessmen face serious legal challenges in India and have been living in the United Kingdom. Modi left India in 2010 following accusations in multiple Enforcement Directorate cases involving money laundering and Foreign Exchange Management Act violations, which he claims are politically motivated.
Mallya, who has been declared a fugitive economic offender regarding unpaid loans related to Kingfisher Airlines, recently lost his appeal against a 2021 UK bankruptcy order. He maintains that Indian authorities have recovered more than the airline's outstanding debt and continues to fight against the Central Bureau of Investigation's fraud case.
