Six suspects have been arrested for the brutal crime.

A tragic incident occurred in Maharashtra's Nanded where a 20-year-old man was assaulted, shot, and killed with his head crushed by a stone. During his funeral, his girlfriend demonstrated her devotion by applying vermillion on her forehead and committing to live as his family's daughter-in-law.

Aanchal and Saksham Tate's relationship began when they met through her brothers. Over three years, their bond strengthened through frequent visits to his home. Recently, they faced opposition from her family due to caste differences, with Aanchal continuing the relationship despite numerous threats.

Upon discovering Aanchal's intentions to marry Tate, her brothers and father violently attacked him on Thursday. They beat him, shot him in the head, and brutally crushed his head with a stone.

During Tate's funeral proceedings, Aanchal arrived at his home where she applied turmeric on his body and vermillion on her forehead, symbolically marrying her deceased boyfriend. She then declared her decision to live in his house permanently as his wife. "Our love won, even in Saksham's death, and my father and brothers lost," she stated, calling for capital punishment for those responsible for Tate's murder. Aanchal explained that she married him because their love remained alive despite his death.

Law enforcement has filed charges against six individuals and taken them into custody in connection with the crime.
