Determination Of Gen Z Greatest Strength Of Viksit Bharat: PM Modi On Mann Ki Baat

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on Sunday that the determination exhibited by India's Generation Z represents the greatest strength for achieving 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).

During the 128th episode of his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi stated, "When determination resides in the heart, coupled with faith in collective strength and teamwork, along with the courage to fall and rise again, success becomes inevitable even during challenging times."

He drew a historical comparison, saying, "Consider the era when satellites, GPS, or navigation tools were nonexistent, yet our sailors successfully navigated large vessels across oceans to reach their destinations. Today, nations are exploring the infinite expanse of space beyond the seas. The fundamental challenge remains identical - without GPS or communication systems, how do we progress forward?"

The Prime Minister shared his experience of viewing a viral social media video from ISRO's drone competition, where young Indians, particularly Gen Z participants, demonstrated their innovative capabilities.

"In this video, young Indians were attempting to fly drones under Mars-like conditions. The drones would initially take off and maintain stability briefly before suddenly crashing," he explained.

"This occurred because these drones operated without any GPS support, which isn't available on Mars. Without external signals or guidance, the drones had to rely solely on their cameras and built-in software. These compact drones needed to identify ground patterns, calculate altitude, detect obstacles, and independently determine safe landing paths. This explains why the drones repeatedly crashed," PM Modi elaborated.

He highlighted a team from Pune that achieved notable success in the competition. Despite numerous falls and crashes, they persisted, and after multiple attempts, their drone eventually managed to fly for a period under Mars-simulated conditions.

The video reminded the Prime Minister of the Chandrayaan-2 mission when communication was lost.

"On that day, our entire nation, especially our scientists, experienced momentary disappointment. However, this setback didn't deter them. They immediately began crafting the success story of Chandrayaan-3. Consequently, when Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed, it represented not merely a mission accomplishment but the triumph of confidence born from previous failure," he remarked.

"I observed the same determined spark in these young participants' eyes. Whenever I witness the dedication of our youth and the commitment of our scientists, my heart fills with enthusiasm. The unwavering determination of our young generation constitutes the foundational strength of 'Viksit Bharat'," the Prime Minister concluded.
