Patna:
On Saturday, a significant Grand Alliance meeting took place in Patna, during which Tejashwi Yadav was unanimously chosen to lead the Grand Alliance Legislative Party.
Representatives from both RJD and Congress parties articulated their positions regarding the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly session and elaborated on the opposition's strategic approach moving forward.
Congress representative Sameer Kumar Singh confirmed that all constituent parties had reached an agreement to operate collaboratively, with the Grand Alliance fulfilling the role of a constructive opposition.
He further mentioned that Tejashwi Yadav's manifesto, which prioritized unemployment and other citizen-centered issues, would constitute the foundation of their campaign efforts from grassroots to parliamentary levels.
Referencing survey data, Sameer Kumar Singh noted that pre-election assessments had indicated diminished support for Nitish Kumar and increased backing for Tejashwi Yadav.
Nevertheless, he contended that the actual results were manipulated through interventions by the Election Commission and administrative authorities.
He encouraged party members to maintain their resolve and solidarity.
Singh also refuted reports suggesting Congress MLAs were departing for Delhi or that the party faced potential fragmentation.
He clarified that while certain MLAs had indeed been summoned to Delhi, two had already returned, with four still remaining there.
He provided assurance that no MLAs were absconding and that the Grand Alliance remained completely unified.
To counter circulating rumors, Singh offered to arrange a media interview with MLA Habibur Rahman.
RJD MLA Bhai Virendra outlined the Assembly schedule, stating that MLA oath-taking ceremonies would occur on December 1, followed by the Speaker election on December 2, succeeded by the Governor's address and the introduction of the Appropriation Bill.
He emphasized that the opposition would vigorously challenge the government's problematic policies and maintain active engagement throughout the session on public interest matters.
Both leaders reiterated their concerns regarding the recent election outcomes, alleging manipulation of voter mandates.
Bhai Virendra remarked, "Street-level public discourse indicates a widespread belief that while the Grand Alliance received the votes, the results were tampered with. Eventually, accountability will be demanded."
Bhai Virendra maintained that the opposition's struggle was not numerically based but principally oriented.
"The opposition will consistently advocate for public-interest concerns regardless of which party holds governmental power. The Grand Alliance will vigilantly monitor the government's commitments, particularly regarding law enforcement and employment opportunities. Should the NDA government fail to honor its promises, the Grand Alliance will mobilize public support for its cause," stated Bhai Virendra.
