Senior Congress leader and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat escaped unharmed after his convoy was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on NH-58 near Meerut. The accident occurred when a pedestrian caused a police escort vehicle to brake suddenly, triggering a chain reaction among following vehicles. Police quickly transferred Rawat to another vehicle, allowing the convoy to continue to Dehradun while only minor injuries were reported.
