Delhi is set to launch India's first cooperative taxi service 'Bharat Taxi' on January 1, offering a zero-commission alternative to platforms like Ola, Uber, and Rapido. Operating under Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, the service provides drivers with higher earnings while addressing common issues like surge pricing and ride cancellations. With 56,000 drivers already registered, the platform will soon expand to more than 20 cities across India.

India's government has launched Bharat Taxi, the country's first cooperative taxi service designed to compete with Ola and Uber. Starting with a Delhi pilot in November, the initiative allows drivers to keep their full earnings through a membership model rather than paying commissions. By 2030, the service aims to include 100,000 drivers nationwide under the management of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited with Rs 300 crore initial capital.
